I used to be professional programmer for quite a while. And then I got really-really tired of computers, so I thought why not start making something beautiful, like… knives. So in March of 2007 I did complete switch from programmer to knifemaker.
From 2008 I’m back at ‘regular’ dayjob, but my goal is still to become a full-time knifemaker/engraver. This blog is about my progress and how it all works out.

Wonderful idea. I’m still a graphic designer, but switching to sculpture is sounding better every year.
I too am growing bored of the computer world. I am only 28 but my entire working life has been with computers and networking. I have always wanted to become a blacksmith / bladesmith. It’s good to know I’m not alone.
TBAX, welcome to the club! For me it currently seems to turn out as a ‘break’ from computers. Currently I’m again looking for a ‘normal’ job. But this is so I could support the knifemaking/engraving business start-up. I’m sure soon I’ll write a post about this progress.
